Hi everyone, I'm Anastasia (Stacie) and I'm the first quartermaster on this virtual voyage , which departs April 10 (surprise). Log on to the site and there is no. com or . org. Please do so because we all will have fun and share our common interest. Best wishes.

Hi, This is Stacie and i am completely annoyed. I have been trying for 2 days now to get on to the voyage and all I get are pages that don't fully load. I have been looking forward to this for months and all I have gotten is jack ****. Are any of you in the same boat as me? Please respond.
Thank you,
Love Stacie

Dear Stacie,

I'm the barman during the voyage, but it seems I also missed the boat. I can't open the page. Probably, cause my computer can't read JAVA-script or something. It's a pity, cause I also really looked forward to it. Well, they have to miss the ice in their drinks...

I was traveling Second Class in D86 and am really bummed- nothing happens- the page either goes to a white screen and says done, times out, or says Website Not Responding. What happens when you get there Steve? Are we missing much? This is cruel and unusual punishment for an old lady with few thrills left in life!

Oh I know. This isn't fair. I've been counting the days from around Christmastime to do this. I am a quartermaster, one who steers the ship, and I can't steer anything on this. I guess they'll hit the berg without me.

Everyday, I come home from work and log on thinking I will get in. Some people have. I wonder if it can't read DSL, which is supposed to be a good thing. Whatever the reason, I am way mad.

Hi Stacie,

Am fairly new to the site. I've tried once or twice to get into the voyage of Titanic and had absolutely no luck either!! Don't know what's going on!!

Best wishes
Em!

Try this:

www zyworld.com/thetitanicinventory/cabincorridorBF.htm [dead link]

Hopefully, this will get at least some of you onto the "ship". What one actually DOES there once on board is still a complete mystery...

Thanks Ben, it worked! But exactly what on earth do you do when you get there? Has anybody worked it out yet?

Best wishes
Em!

To anyone interested in the voyage who hasn't gotten in or met anyone, a young participant on the voyage and occasional poster to this message board, Matthew Broz (who can't remember his ET password!) has asked me to post this link in regard to the virtual voyage and the comments made in this thread.

The voyage is actually a series of illustrated chat rooms at all the various locations on the ship, including all the private cabins of the participants. Passengers roam the ship, running into each other (or not running into anyone) and role play the 1912 characters they have created in the chat rooms. Here is Matt's message:

Titanic Passengers:

I'm very curious as to where everyone is on this voyage and wish to meet with whoever comes. If you would, please come to the First Class Lounge and talk to me, Matthew Broz. If you are having trouble logging onto the site please try this link: www zyworld.com/thetitanicinventory/lounge.htm

I will be there from 1:12 until 2:00 Central Daylight Time, hoping this message is fast enough for you guys to read. I hope I see you there... Matt Broz

There you are, Matt -- message posted!

I've spent some time trawling around the different locations, and have yet to "meet" anyone at all!

Perhaps it would be an idea to all start off at one particular place when logging on. That way, we might run across one another! As Matt has posted the link to the lounge above - why not there?

Regards,
Paul.

I give up. I tried all these posted links and either my computer isn't compatible or I just have crappy luck. Whatever the reason, it stinks. Thank you so much, Everyone, for helping me try to get on anyway.

This is what happens... I open a room and the picture only shows up. The page doesn't fully load as the computer indicates and I get annoyed.

Not being a whiz on PC's I offer the following info with some doubt!

Stacie, It appears that the chatroom program runs using Javascript. Perhaps your internet options have been defaulted not to run Javascript? Might be worth checking...(Menus: Tools / Internet Options / Advanced)

Regards,
Paul.

Hi Shelley, I got there and couldn't figure out where to go. Although I'm considered middle class now, I'd be traveling 3rd Class in 1912, and I'm afraid to open my mouth lest my commoner's London accent would give me away. Maybe I should de-bark and wait out the end of the coal strike...

Steve- what a nightmare- I just went to the lounge thanks to the link posted above. There I logged in my name and was transported to a strange place where I was told to /help or .help and suddenly a big red dot screaming SPIN appeared and I was getting mail from somebody named Eduardo in Chile (he was interested!) and all sorts of soft-core porn offers! My STARS and GARTERS.. am too old for this excitement-I feel faint.. gasp...all I wanted to do was sit in those nice plushy green damask chairs and chat genteel-like in refined tones about Mr. Andrews.

It works fine Down Under, though it's a bit slow to load the pictures. Trouble is that nobody seems to be on board. A new Mary Celeste!
