I would assume that a first class ticket on a Red Star Line or American Line ship would be significantly cheaper than its equivalent on a White Star or Cunard ship. Does anyone know if I'm right?

I've read of at least one passenger who chose a Red Star ship over Titanic because it was cheaper.

I've often imagined that travelers could chose between what might have been a more spacious and comfortable voyage in second class on the Titanic or Mauretania; and the mere fun of being a first class passenger on, say, the Lapland or St. Paul.
