Seems a fairly common occurrence, the ferry disaster. There are still the remains of a ferry in a river close to me, which can be seen at low tide, where some 80 years ago it snapped its dock moorings in a storm, floated upstream and crashed and sank on the rocks - and there it remains! Will try and dig out some more info about it and post it up when I get the chance.
