Now that we know they're safe...

Doesn't that sound like the beginning of a joke?

"1 Aussie, 1 Brit, 1 Frenchman and 2 Germans are adrift in a life-raft..." etc etc

Bit of a shiver went through me - the guys sent up loads of flares. No-one took any notice, even a few boats passed by and either didn't see them or the swells were too high...
Apart from the swells, does it remind us of another incident some time ago?
Just an observation.

They even set the bloody thing on fire as it was sinking in a bid to attract attention.

"...and the Frenchman turned to the Aussie and said..."

You know, you could be right. They might even have struck one of 100's of ships or whatnot lying under the waves near that point!!
I think it's about time someone thought of fireworks with the word HELP....
