Francis Jones

I am trying to check the truth of a family rumour... the original rumour was that "great grandmother's sister Ada's eldest boy went down on the Titanic..." I have eventually established it was Henrietta not Ada, that it was possibly a younger child and that it was the Lusitania rather than the Titanic.

Having had all these chinese whispers to sort out first I thought I'd seek some more authorative help from this website before I started chasing another set of half truths...and its not easy tracking down Jones' !

Can anyone help me with establishing whether there was a Francis Jones, born 1883 in Pontypool, monmouthshire, wales on board. The family moved to Pensylvania in the late 1890's (Braddock/Pitsburg/New Castle or somewhere I don't know)

There appear to be a couple of possibilities from the list I've been looking at but I don't know how accurate that list was

Many Thanks - I think I may have got somewhere at last

This list has a John Jones listed as a fireman, the other list I saw had a F Jones listed as a fireman and according to the 1891 census my Jones was called John Francis Jones... the other possibility is one of the many W Jones listed in various places...

none of the passengers are a possibility

Thank you again...now I guess its searching througth the resources for references to crew called Jones...
