My researches came up with slightly different information, plus some about Jack. We believe he emigrated to Canada. We think he became a farmer before enlisting and seeing action in France. He joined the 2nd Lifeguards Regiment, posted to France in May 1915, subsequently in the Machine Gun Regiment. We now know he emigrated, presumably from Canada, to Australia some time after the end of the war. He married Edith Eliza Ferris in 1924 in Victoria. They are shown on the Victoria electoral roll in 1946 living at 21, Wheatley Road. He had a son Jack some time between about 1918 and 1925 who was born in Sydney. We have also found a Jack Frederick Crafter who was born in 1942 and is on the electoral roll in Henty 1980.

The person on the 1980 electoral is the only Jack Frederick Crafter listed in Victoria. This person is almost certainly the son of Frederick and Edith, and was born Feb 1929. (The family was at Wheatley Rd, Bentleigh in 1929 so Jack was probably born in Vic)
