Future Expedions

Which one? There are photos available of one door completely open. (I am assuming you are referring to the 2 doors that malfunctioned and allowed the 5th and 6th watertight compartments to flood) I seem to remember hearing that the other door in question, although it has not been photographed, has been reported as only partially closed.

I also have not heard anything about any plans to visit the wreck again. (Although I suspect it will happen)

The Greeks watch it pretty closely. I know that it takes a lot of prodding (and probably bribing) to get to her.

The diver was John Chatterton who visited the wreck with his diving partner Richie Kohler to make that doc.

Bribing is out of the question for the Department of Maritime Antiquities. They are very serious people and they deserve our respect for their great efforts to protect the underwater heritage of Greece with limited funds and equipment. The fact that they are taking their important mission very seriously has caused problems during past expeditions (especially in 2006) and for this reason we will try to establish a fast-track process for the application needed to dive to the wreck.

Currently everything is "frozen". No chance for an expedition in 2010. There has been some interest for 2011 but nothing is certain yet.
