Ghosts of the Abyss on VhsDvd

Hi,

a few days ago I saw Ghosts of Abyss in our IMAX theatre in Munich. It was a preview only for journalists, the film will start in Germany in January or February. I believe it will appear on DVD or VHS on the market not before all IMAX cinemas in the world will have shown it for a while.

If you just have seen it in three dimensions - I think the 2D-edition can hardly reach that impression. As far as I know it is not possible to create a 3D-DVD for tv-screens.

But it is very well possible to create a 3D-edition for another kind of home cinema. All you need are:

- a special silver coated screen for 3D projection (like the ones for slide projections - not expensive),
- two video or DVD beamers (expensive)
- one GotA DVD for the left eye,
- a second one for the right eye and
- the usual IMAX glasses (cheap).

Finally you put on polarisation foils onto the beamer lenses, start both DVDs exactly at the same time, put on your IMAX glasses and enjoy it in 3D...

I wish they would sell them two (right and left) DVDs separately.

Best regards
Henning

GotA has been playing in Atlanta for some time now. I'm a one and a half hour drive from Atlanta. It would make sense that I could procure tickets rather easily. It would make equal sense that Disney (being Disney) would be most cooperative in providing me with tickets for an actual showing. It would make sense that providing a credit card to purchase tickets would be an easy thing. What doesn't make sense is for an 18-year old Disney/IMAX rep. to tell me that the show is sold out years beyond my required age to draw from my IRA and 401K. What does make sense is that I have a cat and a philodendron (not to mention kids) older that that Disney rep. What also makes sense is that I have a contact with a Disney sales exec. I am looking forward to seeing GotA early nest year.

Mary, I am totally confused as to what you are saying? Do I understand you to mean that the guy at the IMAX theatre said that all showings were completely sold out for, what seems by your description, a very long time? I don't understand what you mean by "Disney (being Disney) providing you with tickets" though. Do you mean to say that a Disney rep has gotten you tickets? That would be nice. The show is good. Hope you get to see it.

I used to work for Disney (but not is sales) and the people I worked with were always very nice. So I hope it works out for you. You would think that if the theater has that many requests o see the show, they would expand their hours to accommodate more people.
