Well I have 2 bad feed-backs on my account. One was because I was new to ebay and unfamiliar with paypal. The other because I did not pay for an item. This item I found out to be illegal but would have been of bad quality. So a negative non-payer feedback was left. Because of my 2 negatives I have had difficulty being excepted for this auction. I have phoned them up in New York and since been told that this will all be corrected. Three phone calls later I am still unable to place a bid.
Anyway I don’t want to sound like I have a chip on my shoulder because of this - but I am sincerely worried about there own feed-back. I have had enough bad experience now with buying things online so I try to be cautious even when it comes to the big auctions houses ! I find the descriptions on each item to be quite brief considering the prices they start at are so high, as are the estimates. Below is a link to something that I will stay well away from. However had it been six weeks ago I probably would have put a bid in.

I was given some advice recently, one came from the guy whom has authenticated 2 of the Smith autographs at this auction ( he has a website ) and he told me 70 % of the autographs on Ebay are not real. He also said most certificates of authenticity and worthless bits of paper that anyone can write. He asked me how to post here - I don't know if he has ?
And another gentleman said this :
As a British Titanic collector once told me, we can only be sure of a signature’s authenticity if we are there when it is signed. Obviously, in a lot of cases we can not do that. In all fairness, though, it does look authentic, although it is difficult for me to judge it conclusively on the basis of a photo and without a number of samples to compare it with.
So it’s really up to the individual who is buying the item to gather all the information and then decide for themselves if they believe it to be real or if it is not.
