I was wondering if anyone here would have any further information on his man.
He was born in Stockholm and they lived at Moseback Torg, very near the city centre.
He trained as a mining engineer and was working in Canada as part of his further training. He was on the Lusitania because he was calling to his sister in Sheffield.
I presume he planned to spend a few days there before making his way to the east coast of England and another ship to Sweden.
Apparently he was engaged to be married and on his visit home he had planned to make arrangements to get married.
He never made it. He was the first body to be recovered by the Coutmacsherry Lifeboat. They identified him by a cheque book he was carrying
His body was taken back to Sweden from Cobh about a week after his death.
His funeral took place some days later and according to the graves records it was June before he was buried.
