Hard a starboard

I think it's interesting how romanticism plays a role in people's understanding of the events surrounding Titanic. It's very romantic, the idea of a majestic grand beautiful liner desperately back-peddling to try to avoid being hurt, as well as the idea the man entrusted with her safety fervently working the controls at his disposal as much as he could to try to protect her. It certainly plays a role in people's understanding in some cases. Although I find it much more appealing exploring the events that night in the way you have done, objectively, as I think it offers a greater connection to an important part of history. Thank you for doing so, I have enjoyed it.

"Hardly has 6th Officer Moody confirmed that the helm is hard-a-starboard when Titanic's starboard side contacts the ice. "Correction, port side.
