Great lots, as usual, Andrew! I was particularly interested to see the material connected with Pitman's OBE go under the hammer - he is one of the more neglected of the deck officers, and hopefully this will spur interest in his later career.

I'm also wondering what Lightoller's TAOS will go for, particularly compared with the exorbitant prices it was selling for on ebay a few years ago!

Hi Inger,

The Pitman material is very interesting indeed; I agree it is good to see items from a section of his career that is sometimes forgotton coming to everyones attention. The Lightoller Titanic and Other Ships should be around the £100 mark.

On the subject of books in the sale, one volume that I feel is stands out is the edition of Home from the Sea. The fact that Rostron has signed and inscribed the book to Benjamin Steel "Now a friend and neighbor who I can swap a yarn over the Garden fence" makes it that little bit more unusual.
