Porthoustock in the parish of St Keverne is a small fishing village located close to the southern tip of the Lizard Peninsula in South-West Cornwall and it was here that the Hold family had their origins as mariners and coastguards.

my name is Thomas Henry Anstey born in Worcester England July 18 1930. My paternal grandmother was Henrietta Anstey (Nee Hold) of 31 St. Georges Terrace, Stoke, Plymouth, Devon, England. She had two sons, Stephen and Charles Henry, my father. Stephen, his brother, moved to the United States with his wife Phyllis. They had one daughter, Coralie who married S. Wilkes. They lived in Pacific Palisades Ca. USA. I have one unwed sister, Denise Claire Anstey living in South Africa. I have two daughters, Denise Mary Tamo and Jennifer Robin Anstey and one son, Charles Henry Anstey whose wife is Rose. They have one son, Thomas Henry Anstey born in Toronto ON Canada on December 6 2002. I have a postcard which my great uncle Stephen mailed to his mother, Henrietta, from Southampton before boarding the Titanic and a post office telegraph sent by Annie from New York to Mrs. Henrietta Anstey. It read,"Arrived safely Carpathia Steve unaccounted for so far - Annie"
