How do you pronounce Campania, UK pronounciation.

Taking the middle syllable, is it:

a (as in pane) or,
a (as in a in castle)

And the last syllable. Is it pronounced:

ia (as in Maria) or
ya (as in Tanya).

Same question with Lucania with regards to the middle syllbale "a" and the last "-ia". But also, is the "c" pronounced hard, as in "cane", or soft, as in "circle"

Sorry if this sounds like an odd post, but I've wondered about this for too long and it's time I cleared it up!

Pane and Maria (and hard C) are correct Queen's English pronunciation for the place names. Cunard or the ships' crews might have had other ideas!
