"verbal gymnastics from Dr.B"?

The above tallies EXACTLY with everything he has said previously about his plan for searching for Big T and is not a wild tall tale from Dr. B.

I beg to differ. Especially considering some of the Titanic stuff he has said in recent years.

Also, why start in the general area the Carpathia picked up the lifeboats when the French spent weeks searching to the west, south and north of this location? DId he sent the French on a wild goose chase? Why was the French search area so close to the CQD location, when Ballard had decided that this was a wrong position?

Perhaps someone on this board (Jon Hollis maybe?) can confirm that, much to the French's surprise, Ballard came up witha totally new search area without telling them?

I've just found a very interesting 1986 interview with Ballard in "Omni" magazine.

Given what we know about how the wreck was found, would his comment that "it was an unofficial search" be considered accurate?
