I read somewhere on Ebay that the Britannic was in service from 1930-1960? I thought the ship never got the chance to see service because it was commissioned for war and was destroyed by that bomb.
Tripp, you might want to click on Britannic I for a history of this ship. She served from 1874 to 1903 when she was sold to a German scapping firm for £11,500.
Britannic 1 was a sister ship to Germanic both built by H&W interestingly the Germanic survived for 75 years even 2 sinkings. I'm looking for drawings of either ship.
There were three White Star Line ships with the name Britannic. There was the SS Britannic from 1874, the famous HMHS Britannic from 1916, and the MV Britannic from 1929.
