I'm not sure how to post things so I might have put the question in the wrong place, sorry.

According to several reports, there were 12 confirmed dogs on the ship, but there could have been more. It is known that 3 of the dogs survived the sinking by being smuggled by their owners in the lifeboats. The dogs were small enough to be hidden from the loading crews.

Don't be sorry. It's hard to ask a question about Titanic that hasn't already been asked numerous times before. But if you go thru the many threads on this subject including the one Mark posted my answer to you would be 10 to 12 dogs at the time of sinking. There's debate about that. Also before the sinking there was the cat "Jenny". But she jumped ship in Southampton with her kittens as so the story goes. But I don't think she was anybody's pet. You don't own a cat. They own you. Little bastards...:p.
