Look! I was just browsing through Google, and I found this image showing how bad the damage from the iceberg was from the collision, and it had a man added next to the hole to give off an idea about how big the damage was.

Well, I'll be damned. No wonder the Titanic sank. How are you supposed to seal up a hole THAT big while sailing at 23 knots in the middle of the North Atlantic?!? "This ship is unsinkable" my ass!

That (mirrored) photograph shows the damage below waterline caused by the HMS Hawke on Olympic in September 1911.
