Keira Knightly doesn't hold a candle to Kate Winslet - but then I may be prejudiced because her character ****** Captain Jack Sparrow in DEAD MAN'S CHEST. Kate - on the other hand - continues to create fascinating characters. I adored her in FINDING NEVERLAND and THE ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND. I also loved her in IRIS and was pleased that Judi Dench was in that as well (so was Jim Broadbent) as Dame Judi is another favorite. I love it that Kate is down to earth, although friends of mine who met Keira and the other pirates on the red carpet at Disneyland last month said she was very sweet to all the fans. I guess she needed to be as a pre-emptive to any backlash that might result after people see the sequel.

Yes, Keira is only a pretty young girl, but it doesn't mean she won't become an amazing acting professional in the future. I've just said that because here in my country to like Keira Knightley is very "í  la mode" when we talk about British actresses.

Whatever you can say about Keira, she's been busy. (See http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0461136/ ) She appears to have avoided the pitfall of being typecast which has been the kiss of death for the career prospects of anyone who started out as a child actor.

True! She definitely has many acting qualities and has been making quite a number of films, I was just saying that if we compared her with other actresses, she's still unexperienced, but I'm not putting an account of her professionalism. There's been rumors of her suffering from anorexia. Although she denied this, she admitted the existence of previous cases of this problem in relatives.

I once looked like a poster child for anorexia - got down to 79# and then back up to 89# (I'm 5'2"). But I wasn't anorexic. I have a thyroid condition called Graves Disease which takes your metabolism all over the galaxy. But there is a LOT of pressure on girls in films to be as small as they can be. Still, to do the action sequences she does, she'd have to be in top physical condition, and if she DOES happen to have a thyroid condition, workouts like that can indeed make her too lean.

As for her acting, she's good enough for one so young - to be able to handle her own with such honored talent as Geoffrey Rush, Judi Dench and Johnny Depp is greatly to her credit.
