A Night to Remember" a survivor divorced her husband simply because he had survived

There were streets here in Southampton where nearly every house lost a breadwinner. There must have been feelings of shame and embarrassment even. Imagine living there knowing your husband was still alive and feeding your family. Imagine being the survivor and trying to go about your business under the gaze of bereaved wives and children. I'm thinking out loud here, I wonder if a lot of survivors and their families moved? I might check the census when I get some spare time.

I remember reading in "A Night to Remember" a survivor divorced her husband simply because he had survived.
Considering the sort of woman Lucile was, I would not be surprised if Bill Carter saw his chance to be rid of a wife he despised by entering Collapsible C and surviving.
