The whole thing is a mockery really. You can tell that witnesses are avoiding direct answers in both inquires.

In the second Mr. Wildings testimony is used at will. He is actually ordered not to go into detail.

I would agree, the hearings were a farce. Very few if any truths came out. Ship's personnel were covering themselves or WSL. Others were protecting BOT. Later after the Lusitania hearing which Lord Mersey also conducted he is quoted as saying it too was a whitewash like Titanic.
