Does anyone know specifically which interior spaces (including specific staterooms) were directly affected or damaged by the collision between the HMS Hawke and the RMS Olympic? Thanks in advance for the reply.
It looks like she was damaged around E and F Deck above the waterline, smashing up a number of 2 and 4 berth third class cabins directly below the forward end of the poop deck. Any underwater damage in the same area would have punctured the refrigerated cargo areas on the Orlop deck and there was possibly damage to the meat storage areas on G Deck although the damage to the propeller shaft suggests the ram struck further after than that.
