Is this Titanic

Hey people, is this Titanic?? It looks to me like Lusitania or Mauretania because of the vents. I know that they had lots .... more than Titanic & Olympic. Plus, it has bands on the funnels, O & T didn't. The bottom of the bridge (Just visible) looks different and there is no A-deck overhang, and, the promenade deck looks completely different. No, that's the Mauretania. The Maury had more cowl vents than her sister did.

Yep, that definitely is the Big Geordie Lass herself! If I'm not mistaken, doesn't that photo appear in one of R Ballard's books- Lost Liners or Exploring the Lusitania?

This guy is none too fussy about photos. His site includes the notorious photo of Captain Smith and the officers of Olympic captioned as the officers of Titanic. I especially like the photo of Titanic leaving Cherbourg in broad daylight. There are other examples.

I've got to wonder about that photo that's supposedly of the Post Office. I'm not aware of any that have survived if any were even taken.

It's the photo on page 79 of Titanic Voices. It's attributed to the Southampton Pictorial. Whether it's really the postal office on Titanic is another thing!

That photo of Mauretania coaling was actually taken in NY - another impossibility for a Titanic image.

Thanks people!! i don't like it when people want to do a site about Titanic and then get pictures or facts wrong. Let this be a lesson to us all!! If anyone is going to do a site telling the story of Titanic, please get everything right!!
