Hi all.

Was looking at James Moody's sailor child picture and realised in that pic he had very large full lips. In his pictures where he Is clearly in his late teens in his appreintance officer uniform that his lips look a little smaller than his child picture.

My question is, did moody have lip deduction?

Thanks in advance.

Surgery in 1912 was dangerous enough that no one would have had (or perform) an operation for cosmetic reasons. Anesthetics and antiseptics did exist, and things were much better than they’d been in the 1800s. But death during and after surgery was commonplace, for example from an infection (as there were no antibiotics). Plastic surgery didn’t really exist before World War 1, when surgeons developed ways to treat the horrific injuries caused by the war.

No. Like many people, his features changed over time - he had full lips as a young child, and as he matured his lips thinned out.
