I saw this mentioned in a book about haunted houses by a very innacurate author!
"The head of the Cunard line is said to have been a guest here when he received news of the sinking of the Titanic; and thereafter he never smiled for the rest of his life".
Now the author is so poorly regarded (by me anyway) for his sloppy research and his habit of repeating old stories without doing any new research that I am willing to dimiss this. After all, why dhould the head of the Cunard line be upset about the loss of a rival steamship?
Cheers
Paul
