You had mentioned the Malta Run in another thread. Wanted to post here so I didn't hijack someone else's thread. I knew a lot of naval warfare went on in the Mediterranean during WW2 but was not up on the convoy's to Malta. Yes those guys caught hell. In some way even worse than the Murmansk run as they took a lot more airstrikes from what I saw. The British navy and merchant fleets really spent a lot to keep Malta going. Read a few articles and there are some good video's on it on YouTube. Thanks for bringing it up. Those guys deserve their due.

I had to look that up as I'm not familiar with the British system. Next after the Victoria Cross. From what I read about Malta they deserve it. According to Wiki that was the only time it was awarded to a place. But that is Wiki so one would need to check it more. Anyway the story of what they did to keep Malta is an interesting/fascinating chapter in WW2. The American version of WW2 history doesn't cover it very well.
