Ken Marschall & Don Lynch

I'm sure this will come to many as a stupid question but I'm fairly new to this site and I feel I'm entitled to a few stupid questions.

I was wondering if Don Lynch or Ken Marschall ever are on Encyclopedia Titanica or if anyone knows how to contact them or WHEN to contact them so as to not be a pain in the @$$ to either of them. All my life I've just wanted to exchange just a few words with them as I've been so facinated with Don's more than great writing on the tragedy, and Ken's SUPERB paintings. Does anyone know if Ken and Don will be getting together for any book projects anytime soon? I'd die for an authentic Ken Marschall painting. I was just wondering if anyone knew of ANY way to contact either of these gentlemen. Thanks everyone and best wises!

Re. contacting them, I wouldn't know, and I don't think it would be a good idea for any direct contact methods to be given out on here anyway- they'd be swamped!

However, Ken has participated in threads on here from time to time, and though he too gets swamped, he has in the past done his best to give some great answers to the very many questions that came flying his way!

Thanks Mike! Yeah I know he's definitely put himself in a "spotlight" as far as the Titanic story. Which is an accomplishment that so few of us will ever get the honor to have. I'd just give anything to talk to the man for 5 minutes. I have no idea what I'd say, it'd be like meeting a celebrity to me. You have to admit he's a very brilliant man and exquisite artist. What about Don Lynch? I'm sure he's up there in Titanic stardom too. From what I've seen in interviews they are two great guys with a genuine passion for the Titanic and that's what fascinates me about them. I really hope one day to exchange just a few words and would absolutely flip to meet one of the. They're grrrreat! lol. Thanks again for replying Mike.

Don Lynch may look in from time to time. I really have no way of knowing as he's not registered here as far as I know. Ken is actually a registered member of this forum but for a wide veriety of reasons, he rarely ever posts here. He's a pretty busy man. Don't worry though, if he happens to drop by and has any good reason of his own to say something, he will.

I am ... surprised that Ken Marshall posts here. Not because this isn't an awesome forum, it is. There is just a childish part of me that believes that people whose work I admire don't *really* exist in a world that might come in contact with my little reality.

Yes, I am a 45 year old physicist who gets star-struck as a kid. Maybe that qualifies as "charming"? ;)

On Ken's behalf, thank you for all your kind words regarding his work.

As his business partner, it has always been a problem to figure out a way for Ken to successfully respond to all of the letters, e-mails, and phone calls he gets on a daily basis. If he were to answer them all as quickly as he would like, he would never paint again.

The purpose of this message is to let you know that we are trying to figure out a way to accomplish this problem with Trans-Atlantic Designs' new sister-website, www.KenMarschall.com. Currently it only has a temporary Splash page, but we hope to have it fully launched within the next couple of months. Please check back from time to time and see what is new in the life and art of Ken Marschall.

Best regards,

Vern Shrock

Thanks for the news, and good luck. If y'all need any help with the new site, I am certain you will have no shortage of willing and able volunteers to be found aboard, just ask.

Hi Vern,

Thanks for the terrific news and great to see your post. I'm also looking forward to seeing the site when it's up and running. No doubt that it will be as well put together, as the Trans-Atlantic Designs site is.

Best regards,

Jason
