L F Yardley

Hello all,

Does anyone have any info on second class passenger L.F. Yardley who I believe came from Toronto and died on the Lusitania? I know precious little about my dad's side of the family and my dad was always too drunk to remember anything!

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Boz

Lewis Frank Yardley was originally from Birmingham
he was born around 1883. I'm not sure how long he had been in Toronto, but before going there his home was at 44 Alexander Road, Acocks Green. I've never been able to find out much about him, if he was married, his wife's name was Louisa or if single, Louisa was his mother!

Morning Cliff

I recently got back in touch with my dad again and he seems fairly lucid these days so he might be able to tell me something. Strangely enough, one of the last times I saw him was in Penzance about 6 years ago. We both have an affinity with Cornall, particularly St. Ives. Also, although my dad's name is Joseph, everyone has always called him "H".

Cheers,

Hey Boz!
Have just found out that Lewis Yardley was married with 1 child- it seems that he was working for the Post Office at the time and that his wife recieved £100.00 insurance when he died

Morning Cliff,

Would that be the Post Office over here or in Canada? The Post Office connection would certainly narrow the search.

I haven't had much of a chance to do any in-depth research lately but hopefully I'll be able to do something soon.

Thanks for the tip, Cliff.

Cheers,

Boz
