I also have this photo of the launching. Each of the photos are too big to be posted so i sent them in seperate files and fused them together so if your looking to cut and paste them into your collection please keep that in mind: you may only walk away with half a photo!

Greg,
The first photo is indeed Britannic (III). Despite what the caption says on the bottom, the vessel is not Britannic (II) of 1914.

Compare launch photos of Brit (II) and Brit (III).

Britannic (III)

The ship in question is quite obviously the vessel launched in 1929.

Josh.

Im sorry Josh but I know for a fact that it is the 1914 Britannic sistership of Olympic and Titanic.
If you look at the picture you can see the hawse pipe oval shape on the bow, same one that Olympic and Titanic both had, but not Britannic III.

Greg

Greg,
You are right, and I appologize. I wasn't thinking clearly earlier.

I had been thinking of a similar photo of Britannic (III) that caused some confusion in its labeling in the past. I'll try to find this photo to show you what I was thinking of. The top photo just seemed a bit off for some reason. The ship looked smaller. I don't know.

I'm sorry about this. I'll get back to you with that photo though.

Josh.

If you interested I have a filmclip of the launching in 1914.

I uploaded it here if you want to see it. titanicnorden.com/download/video/mpeg/brit2.mpg

Wow this was my one hundred post. Now I have to celebrate with champagne
