In point of fact, Mrs. Becker was on lifeboat 11, but her daughter Ruth was, I believe, in boat 13. By the way, I think I can actually make out four oars in the above photo.

Thank you some much for getting back with me.I have a photo of Sidney James Humphreys.I do know that he lost some fingers, and toes from the cold waters,He was on his way back to England and the Captain of the Queen mary signed the back of his photo.I was hoping to find out more about his father and his name. But im sure it's Sidney, that name is still going in my family. So again thank you for your time, this is neat i should of been doing this years ago.

Hi James,

Sure you're quite right. Judging by the following article taken from the biography available on E.T, Ruth Becker didn't seem to get into lifeboat #11 but lifeboat #13. Good work.

-----------------
While the boats were loaded a steward placed Richard and Marion in one of the boats (#11), and then said "Well that's all for this boat!", at which Nellie pleaded to be allowed in as well, saying "Please let me in this boat! Those are my children!" She was allowed in but Ruth was left on the Titanic, at which point Nellie screamed "Ruth! Get in another boat!!". She eventually got into Lifeboat 13.

----------

Dear Karen, it could be very nice to see the photo of Sidney James Humphreys you're speaking about. A photograph is available on his biography published by E.T. I do believe it's not the same, isn't it ?

You'd better contact Phillip Hind if you plan to add a photo on E.T. Or see the biography and click on "add".

Very best regards,

Franck

Hi. im new, very interested in items about lifeboat no.11. A relation of mine Annie Caton. Turkish bath Stewardess who was in the ilfeboat. I would interested in any Photographs or information regarding her connection with lifeboat no.11. And the Titanic in general. Many thanks.
John Caton.

Hi John - I assume you're British? Because there was a prominent Maryland, USA family named Caton. This family was intermarried with the Carrolls and thus distantly related to Colonel Astor's daughter-in-law Brooke. Just an FYI.
Actually, the three Caton daughters, granddaughters of signer of the D of I Charles Carroll, all married English lords.

Also, since the topic's been revived, wasn't Mrs. Silvey in this boat? She's generally placed in it, but she didn't make Franck's list.
