has any of the occupants in the famous Lifeboat 12 photo (alongside the Carpathia) been identified ? ... wouldn't Gracie & Lightoller be among the crowd ?

Was there any first class passenger in boat 12? All the resources I've looked up show there only second and third class passengers and few crew members.

Keep in mind that some of what's there can be inferred only by the best available evidence and not all of it can be relied on. One of the problems here is that passengers were not always aware of exactly what boat they were in and had to try and figure it out afterwards. Since human memory is fallible, I think you can understand the problems.
