Lusitania on the Twilight Zone

On one of those hour long Twilight Zone episodes, there was a time travel episode where the traveler would arrive right before several calmities, try to warn people, but noone belived him. He arrived on the Lusitania, tried to warn the captain she was going to be torpedped- and the captain locked him in the brig. Has the Lusitania popped up on any other tv shows or movies?

A Lusitania movie might be a long overdue thing indded..

Hi, Tarn:

I think the show you're remembering is Night Gallery. It was done by Rod Serling in the late 1960s, I think. The "Flying Dutchman" is found in a lifeboat by Titanic. He survives the sinking alone in a lifeboat and three years later is then taken aboard Lusitania, which is torpedoed the next day. Forty-one years later, he is found in a Lusitania lifeboat by the Andrea Doria. I'm sure I don't need to tell you what happened next....

Tarn. I believe the Twilight Zone episode you were thinking about was made in 1962, called "No time like the past". (hmmm. how would I know that???)
Offhand, that is the only one I know with Lusitania in it.

I agree about a movie being overdue. She is an important part of History.

However, don't do a Titanic. Don't make it a love story. An action or spy plot would be a good change.

Also, I wouldn't mind 3 hours again, if it was three hours of:

(a) Action

(b) Plot

(c) A combination of the two.

I vote c.

Eric;

You are absolutely correct! That "Night Gallery" episode premiered in the early winter of 1971. It starred Torin Thatcher as Capt. Turner and an actor named John Colicos as the Titanic survivor. He later appeared in a "B" grade movie with Richard Burton called "Raid On Rommel". In addition to that, I have a copy of the Bantam paperback edition of "Night Gallery" published in 1972 which features the story in full. I sure hope that I can get this episode on video someday!

Take care,
Richard

Richard:

Ah Richard..then you should have been my guest of recent...:-) Out here on the West Coast our cable TV offers channel 34, Movie Plex which airs "Night Gallery" on occasion and that particular episode just recently.

I would have taped it for you, but how was I to know...:-)

"SO COME WITH US IF YOU WILL TO THE NIGHT GALLERY".
