Major Titanic auction in June

I was searching the web today and came arose this. From what I can see it looks like it will be big, this auction house seems to deal with big ticket items. Does anyone know who is selling of there collections. I will be defiantly in New York in June to see the outcome of this one. Here is the link for the site
http://www.guernseys.com/

Does anyone else plan on being there. Rene

This is the reply I have got from them:

Thank you for your inquiry about our exciting upcoming auction focusing on
the Titanic and other historic ocean liners. Although scheduling details
have not yet been finalized, we expect to hold this extraordinary auction in
June of this year. Once the exact date and location are determined, we will
be posting this information, along with further updates about the event, on
our website.

Guernsey¹s will be preparing a comprehensive auction catalogue, fully
illustrating the remarkable collection of artifacts to be offered in this
important sale. The catalogue should be available approximately one month
prior to the auction, and information as to how to order the catalogue will
included on the website as well.

We look forward to sharing additional information about our Titanic auction
with you, and thank you again for contacting us.

This auction will be hardcore, as there will be grand staircase paneling, a nameplate from a lifeboat, stationary from some of the first class rooms bearing Titanic's name, etc, etc, etc..
.....I just cant wait to get the catalog, that in itself will be collectable..

regards

Tarn

Hello All:
I just heard today that the auction will
be held June 10 at South Street Seaport
in New York city. Preview dates are June 8 and 9.
Anyone interested in attending??
Thanks!

Hey Gary,

I am going to try my hardest to be there, I will be in NYC for the General Slocum Anniversary the week after the auction, so maybe I will come early, as for the dinner thing on June 9th, that sounds great! I am so excited to see some of the things for sale, maybe ther will be something in my price range ($10) lol. Thanks for the email

I'll be there if I have to WALK! Boy, talk about exciting! And I'm glad to see there will be some things I can afford - this will be the beginning of collecting for me.

South Street Seaport - hang spot for the NY gang! Hmmm...if I can't make it myself, might get a mate to put in a proxy bid or two. Ro? Mark? Pat? You planning on popping around?

I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow, let alone in June, Ing.

;-)

I am, though, going to try to get there. Sounds like an interesting day. There aren't any further details on the web site (at least as of yesterday), but I'm keeping tabs on it and plan on getting a catalog when it's available.
