Dear Laura, there have been many rumours about men dressing as women to get into the lifeboats. One must remember, however, that men were permitted to enter the starboard boats (except for boat C perhaps), often without further ado, so there was no point for them to dress up as women, or wearing a shawl or whatever. One third class passenger, Daniel Buckley, said he wore a shawl to get away, indicating his presence in a port boat or C. Also, another Irishman, Edward Ryan, allegedly got away this way, very likely in a port boat if his story is to be believed. No first class male escaped dress up as a woman at any rate.

Hi Jan,
Looking at those shoes, he didn't intend walking very far, they must be 4 sizes too small, maybe they fitted better in 1912. Nice legs though not.

I made a wrong turn on Sunset Blvd. (near Hollywood) and much to my dismay, saw quite a few people that looked like that picture.

Then, of course, there is this curious passage from the testimony of AB Seaman Frank Oliver Evans during the U S Hearings, regarding the loading of the boats:

SENATOR SMITH: That boat was lowered. Were there any male passengers in there; any members of the crew, males?

Mr. EVANS: I did not notice any. After we got them into that, I sung out to the seaman: "How many have you got in that boat?" I said: "Ginger, how many have you got?"

Cook - Behe has repeatedly asked you not to call him "Ginger"! As an aside, how DID you get those big feet in such small shoes?

The fact that there was a showing of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" on board that night is also overlooked as well......could well have led to some confusion later on

Hey Brannigan my boy - where the devil have you been all this time? I heard you were given an early release - is this true or just an ugly rumour (bit like Behe!)

Hi Geoff!

Unlike George I am only rumoured to be ugly - hence my absence. Those plastic surgeons are impossible to get at short notice on the NHS!

Geoff,

By the way, as far as membership goes, isn't it wonderful to be described as "advanced"when so many around us (not mentioning Cook for instance) can only describe themselves as intermediate?

"Advanced Member"? "Intermediate Member"?

Is Phil H. turning this into a porn site?

:)

(and I better not be listed as a "Small Member"!)

Bill,
yes, that's the last thing I heard about George, too, last we communicated, which was about a week ago.
Also, I will be offline for a week or so as I will be having a little surgery, and probably won't be near the computer until next week.

Regards,
Dan

Hey, now, why did I get demoted from some 250 posts/member status to 1 post and a generic N/A?! Was it something I said? I didn't mean it! Cook made me do it, yeah!

Hi Dan...I was wondering the same thing. I'm wondering if the whole thing reset or something. Best of everything on the surgury. (If you see a nurse with a humpback who calls him/herself Igor, run!)

Cordially,
