My Titanic picture

Hi Alexander, Hiya Rocky

Well done Alexander - I love the vantage as it strays from those usually selected. Well composed too. Rocky, what have you been up to? I recall your Aquitania tint fondly.

Best,
Eric

Hi Rocky,

Sorry to hear about your computer. I am still restoring some photographs for an exhibit in Washington D.C. and some for a couple of books. I will post a "before and after" if you'd like to see it

Hi Rocky, Hi Jason,

Wow! That is really looking good. Nice color choices, and restrained use. Less is indeed more. And you are not using the acidic craziness one sometimes sees on similar tinted works. I appreciate the reflected light on the port side of the hull below the waterline. Very accurate and a good observation. It also reads as one image - not components pasted together. One "fabric" so to speak. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the sky and how you handle the upper hull. I did a rather similar tint of the Mauretania being launched. I went for atmosphere rather than photorealism this time. Here is a link:

As for the "before and afters", I add two. One is a family portait from 1875 I was hired to restore that had been ripped clean in half. This was a while ago and I could do a {much} better job now. The second is a few of the the color slides from my collection I am doing for the National Museum in Washington.

Best and looking forward to seeing more from you - keep up the good work!

Hi Jason,

Many thanks for your kind words about the Fair images. If you send me an email to remind me, I will send you the "virtual contact sheets" that show all the images, both b/w and color, I provided and restored for the essay book.

Best,
Eric
