New Titanic Game

I was playing the Cyberflix Titanic Game and I realized how little of the ship you atually get to explore. Even major parts of the ship like the swimming pool and the dining room you cant go to. I was just wondering if it was possible to make a game with the whole entire ship to explore. You hardley get to see any of 3rd class and 2nd class.
Call me immoral, but it would be also cool to be able to explore the ship when it is sinking. Like watching water spill over everything and trickle down the E deck stairs and stuff. As long as you don't see anyone die and stuff I don't see what the problem is. Maybe it could be called somthing like Titanic archangel. Maybe like you have to go and preform missions like save the little girl who can't find her way through the 3rd class passageways and stuff. I thought it would be fun to help people while exploring a sinking ship. The last mission could be (this is totally false) jumping off the ship, swimming to an emptey lifeboat, and paddaling around to fill it up. Maybe they could have plot alterations like now and then someone offers yyou a seat in a lifeboat and yo0u have to chose between that or helping someone who is locked in a slowley flooding cabin. and this is a reach, maybe stopping the Titanic from sinking all together. I heared once that ifftitanic had stopped her enguines right after she saw the iceberg, then hit the iceburg, and stopped while against the iceburg, she could of used her bow crane to take the anchor and attach it to the iceburg, keeping the ship affloat until help came. I know it probabley wouldn't work but it would be cool in a game. anyway Im just saying it would be cool.

Hey Chris. I would like to see all the parts of the ship do, and I was disappointed not to see water go down the stairs but then I said..hey this was made in 96 when making water go down the stairs would have been enourmously hard to animate.

It's sad they didn't make a Titanic game on James Cameron's Titanic before it was destroyed. They could have made an adventuregame like Myst where you could move around like on the VR tour on the "Titanic Explorer"

Ya is was hard in 1996, but now with all this new tecnology it would be pretty possible. I mean look at todays games. Grand Theft Auto 3 has 3 cities contained in just 1 disk.

Yes I have Grand Theft Auto 3, it is amazing what they did on that putting a city into one disc

Budget restraints were at fault for not letting Cyberflix designers create the many rooms we do not get to see in the game. Only rooms that pertained to the mission were generated.

Hi Justin. The Titanic Explorer is very hard to find in the stores. I searched a long time before I bought it on Internet for 50$.

Wow Chris, just been reading your idea for a new Titanic game, sounds well cool! You should make one exactly like you explained! Just like being part of the movie! (Coz being on the real one would be too sad I think!) But I think you should have the option to save it, like you said, and have a time limit or something like that! And it should have lots of different endings, think you said that 2, but it sounds cool, especially the bit about exploring ALL of the ship. Let's hope someone makes 1 like that someday! Jess

This would certainly be interesting. It would have to be very dynamic though. The "Titanic : Adventure out of Time" game by Cyberflix has a set path - the clock would not move until you had completed certain tasks, and even when the ship was sinking there were no people on deck.

I liked the video clips that would be played at random intervals, but you could watch a clip of the Smoking Room filling with water, then go into it and it would be dry.

I think each character should have a routine. They would be programmed to go and have lunch at 2:00 and so if you had to speak to a character, you would go to the dining room.

I think they should make a new game which is a little more "detective" like. That would be fun.

Or how about this. A Titanic game where you actually get to 'trade places' with key passengers or ships crew. I would love it if you could change the outcome (the ship does not sink) or be the captain as the ship is sinking, making all of the decisions. This could be a 'reality based game'. Or even be the captain of the Californian or Carpathia.
