News from 1900 Persic rescues the crew of Madura

MAB Note: The rescue described here occurred on 26 October according to
Haws' Merchant Fleets and Anderson's White Star.

The Times, 10 November 1900

The White Star steamer Persic, which arrived at Plymouth yesterday
evening from Australia and the Cape, had on board the crew of 24 of the
English steamer Madura, 1,776 tons, which was burned at sea while on a
voyage to Cape Town with Government stores. The vessel passed Madeira
on October 15, and was burned near the Equator. The crew were able to
take to their boats, and were picked up by the Persic.
