GIGANTIC TOO BOMBASTIC

Ismay Says New Liner Will Not Receive That Name
---
Special Cable Dispatch to THE SUN

---
LONDON, May 15-- A correspondent wrote to J. Bruce Ismay, general manager of
the White Star Company, expressing the hope that after the loss of the
Titanic, whose name suggested challenging the gods, the company would not
allow its new liner to bear such a bombastic name as Gigantic.

Mr. Ismay has replied, stating that the company never has intended and
certainly will not name the new ship the Gigantic.
