TRAINING SHIP MERSEY

The training ship Mersey, under the command of Captain F. W. Corner, R.N.R.,
arrived here yesterday having completed her sixth outward voyage as a White
Star cadet ship. Captain Corner has with him this voyage three former cadets
as officers: chief officer Mr. L. H. Hardstaffe, R.N.R.; first officer Mr. G.
H. Lee Jones, R.N.R.; second officer, Mr. W. S. Finlayson, R.N.R.;
headmaster, Lieut. F. C. Cross.

MAB note: This unadorned comment in the shipping column appears to be the only mention of Mersey's 1914 departure from Australia, which, it turned out, marked her final appearance there for White Star.
