MR. P. E. CURRY

Mr. Philip Eddowes Curry, J.P., who, until his retirement in 1930, was for
33 years a prominent figure in shipping at Southampton, died suddenly at his
home at Bassett on Friday night, at the age of 71. Mr. Curry was appointed
general manager of the American Line in 1902, and in 1907 became local
manager of the White Star Line at Southampton. a position he retained until
his retirement. He was a native of Liverpool.
