Olympic photos at Library of Congress

While ordering some pictures from the collections of the Library of Congress (see online catalog search page at http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pp/mdbquery.html, I found that a number of images had been added from the old Bain news agency. Among them were some interior and exterior shots of Olympic. While connoisseurs may have seen these images, most of us haven’t. The interior views were especially interesting. We’ve seen the same rooms photographed but those in the Bain collection appear to be from different perspectives.

Here are the defunct Bain news service’s interior views of Olympic, copies of which are now available for purchase from the Library of Congress. Again, some may not be new, but they seemed so to me, so I thought I’d share them. The photo of the gym, for example, is taken from a longer angle than I have seen. Enjoy.
