I bought this postcard a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was quite rare, but notice someone from Titanica has the picture only with a stamp on...Bought it from a place called vintage postcards online.

Athough the picture above is a postcard this one I bought is a real photo. However I imagine it is one of many real photo's. Looks like the pictures in the book Olympic and Titanic ocean liners of the past.... I no longer have this book but can anyone tell me if they have seen the photo before ? I understand just because you buy a real photograph dose not always mean it is a one off.

I have Ocean LIners of the Past and I don't recall seeing that photo anywhere inside. It's obviously of the Olympic befor her sister was lost, (Note the original lifeboat provision.) but I don't recognize the background. If I had to guess where she was at, it would be Belfast.

Well that's good if it's not in the book. I must be mistaken.

I also bought this picture of the Aquitania from a nautical shop in Weymouth 15 years ago. Cost me £10 and I was told it was the original or at the very least taken from the original negative. I have seen the same picture as a mass-produced coloured post-card. This one is however larger than postcard size.

Hello,---

Lusitania and Mauretania were sisters, although there were some differences between them Aquitania was considerably different; for a start, she was nearly 14,000 tons larger and over 100 feet longer. The three were intended to be running mates, but Aquitania was not a sister to the other two.
