I'm pretty sure the Olympic was made into a troopship in World War 1. She was converted before the Britannic, in fact. Later on, the Britannic was made a hospital ship. I don't really know the answer but I'm guessing that most likely the Olympic was either transporting more troopers somewhere, going somewhere to get more, or just docked at a port somewhere when the Britannic sank.
