The "Anglian Sovereign" ran aground off Shetland. It seems the tugmaster has fallen foul of the anti-booze ethic.

“The £10m ship was grounded on rocks off Shetland on Saturday evening before it was eventually steered into nearby Scalloway Harbour with a 15-degree list.

But it had spilled around 200 tonnes of diesel, which was yesterday still being cleaned up, although experts believe there is no major long-term environmental damage.

The skipper of the boat, who has not been named by police but is believed to come from Scotland, was arrested and breathalysed.

He is due to appear at Lerwick Sheriff Court on September 14, on alcohol-related offences.”

The quality of the reportage is what one can expect from a provincial paper. For more objective reports see:

The MCA web site itself is somewhat coy on detail
