Out of passing interest

There were some autographs on Ebay that I thought I would keep clear of. However I decided to watch the listing to see what would happen. The autographs speak for themselves I think - but make up your own mind about them from the link!. I was surprised to find out that Frank from the-history-place put a bid in, and was the reason why the price went up about $500 for the only other person whom bid/won. Both The-history-place and the seller of these signatures sell autographs of all sorts on Ebay.

Anyways

Also from looking at my Jack postcard and then looking at the Jack autograph up for sale on Ebay they do not look similar. Jack wrote with a very fast defined hand - being a radio operator I imagine writing down messages very quickly would be necessary when reading codes. But this autograph looks a bit slow and shaky - very different to the hand on my card.

Nothing anyone can say about this I suppose - but I thought I would point it out anyway.

I do hope the person that won this is ok !

Miles! "Not sure" - but cannily suspicious, I bet! I'll not be 'drawn out' - as I believe a shocking number of recent signatures have been. And, for legal reasons, I'll avoid what is termed 'broadcast'. But, along with you, I've a right to voice my suspicions. And, where honesty, integrity and 'good faith' may not be called in question, nor the official membership of the profession doubted, yet the rightness of any authentication may always be - and must often be - challenged. If only because, to dealer and collector alike, the world of autographs is a landscape of goldmines and minefields; of one man 'knows' and another man's 'nose' !

Well it seems the people who sold, bid and won were all Frank. I am 99.9 % sure. My friend Darren
had a look at the sellers account and in the feed-back someones says - Thanks Frank! But that is just an extra which I found out on top of getting an email from the seller which was blatantly written by Frank ! (in my opinion ) In the email the seller stood up for Frank and went on about the world renowned collector that he *is* to a huge extent...

I don't know why he'd bid on his own stuff or what he is up to. Maybe with this G auction he is trying to cash in as there were so many one off Titanic related autographs and his would not look out of place ! But they still stood out like a sore thumb - to me anyway !

But I would put my life on it that he has at least 3 accounts and he was bidder (both bidders) and the seller !

Miles: Be wary - and Beware. Keep finely tuned to every channel but avoid any possible accusation of 'broadcast'. No getting trapped by the 'net' - or by the *network*. The "G auction" was neither exempted from - nor referred to - in my own remarks. And, I refrained from use of the 'f-word'. Or, of *other* 'words'.

Your right.

For a second there I thought you were saying I'd used another word ! I was about to say I'd never use the a word like that... :-))
