Parlour Suite C 64 66

On the ET Cabin Allocation list, the Astors are said to be booked in C 64, 66, but in the Fr. Browne photo of the port side at the Southampton pier, the portholes to these rooms are shown to be open. This suggests that the room's occupants had already arrived, but the Astors didn't board until later that evening at Cherbourg. I know about the airing paint theory dicussed in earlier threads, but I highly doubt that.
So where were the Astors? And more importantly, who was in C 64, 66?

I personally don't think that open portholes means that the occupants of the cabins have arrived. I had once looked at which portholes are open and which are closed and have found that it had no relevance, as there were open and closed portholes for known Southampton boarding passengers. I don't think the paint would have been a problem here, I'm sure first class would have been first priority to get painted. I never heard/read that a first class passenger mentioned their cabin really smell of paint. The last minute touch-ups in first class that did occur, was simply the arrival of new furniture, lamps and other small fixtures that were installed throughout the cabins and public rooms in first class after Titanic's arrival to Southampton.

Andrew,
it's a message board not a chat room. It's no use blitzing several threads with a query about the Carters and asking who's there etc. I can't help you beyond what I suggested yesterday re the deck plans and the search facility, for the reason that I don't actually know anything about the Carters except they had a lot of luggage and Billy had a new Renault car. I don't mean to sound depressing, but I think you're going to have to be a bit more focussed and do some more research on the site first.
best wishes

Andrew,

What are you are saying about the Carters? - "Hi i think the carters were in the other one hope this helps."

The Carters were in B-96 and B-98. That information comes both from the Cave List and from their cabin steward.
