Partitions

This question is directed at Remco Hillen:
You cite wreck footage as your authority for tandem doors
at the forward end of both A and B deck promenades. No plan agrees with that interpretation. Do you have any of these images you could share that would make your case convincing?

I have found what I believe is the A deck partition showing the two doors. Can you point me to a B deck image?

Hello Bob!

The wreck footage, I assume it's the one you've found as it's available on the web, comes from the 1999 expedition. This should be the direct link to it:

As visible, that's A-deck but sadly I don't have any B-deck photo's.

As to the plans; the commonly seen deckplans of Britannic show the Titanic-arragement, at least the shape with one side bent backwards.

But luckily there's the Builders plans which show the new arragement, straight and with two doors. On A-deck it actually shows the old shape too, but as we have the wreck picture we can conclude A-deck has the straight partition.

The B-deck plan show the straight partition too; which made me conclude Britannic had these partition on both decks. If you drop me a note on remcohillen@hotmail I can show you the plans if you want.

Best regards,
Remco
