MAB note: At the time this picture was published, Beadnell was chief officer of Coptic in the transpacific service. This picture accompanied an article about his being temporarily in command for one trip due to the illness of Coptic's Capt. Rinder. Beadnell later became a White Star commander, most notably serving as Cymric's master when she was torpedoed to death. News of his retirement in 1927 appears elsewhere in this topic

This is fascinating for me to see. I live in the house that Captain F E Beadnell built on the Isle of Man.
