Postcards

I was wondering if anyone else has a collection of vintage postcards or is interested in starting a collection? Many of mine are foreign (French and English) postcards from the early 1900's. I have yet to put them all in an album, though I will probably need more than one.

yes, I love postcards, especially the ones with neat postdates and messages. Are yours liner related at all? A decent chunk of my collection can be seen in the thread "Rare Photo" - Mauretania postcards and such with the messages shown on several. Here is a link:

Hi Eric,
Your rare collection of Mauretania postcards is truly remarkable. I have found many of my collection from a wonderful seller on-line. Unfortunately none of mine are ship related, but hope you enjoy-

I do collect postcards, of ocean liners prior to 1940, especially from the famous lines such as Hamburg-America, White Star, Cunard, Norddeutscher-Lloyd and the like, as well as vintage views of China and Hong Kong (anyone collects them?)

I have not really investigated the albums on this site, but I was wondering if there would be any scope for some geographical/infrastructure views of selected locations (circa 1912). I can add some old postcard views of the Southampton area, but it would also be interesting to start albums on old New York, Liverpool and Belfast. Does anyone have any views on this idea?

I just sold a 1911 New York postcard views on ebay...in one of them it showed a 4 funnel liner about to dock........it contained 14 cards....on the back was the view of new york harbor and the docks where all the big liners docked.......
