The focus is not exactly on the ship!

Looking Forward to the resurgence in Titanic interest, from a whole new group of young people.
This is a good thing. Rather than criticise, be thankful for new doors opening.

We went as a family to the 100 year anniversary of the sinking, which was in 3D. We weren't really impressed and the 3D glasses were less than adequate. Is this one going to be any better?
PS We lived in KL Malaysia at the time and cinemas are always freezing cold. We reckoned it was colder in the cinema than it was on Jack and Rose's cabinet!

Yes. The few 3D examples I've seen I didn't care for them. But I know others really seem to like them. If I last long enough I'll just wait to watch it on the holodeck. Cheers.

TITANIC REMASTERED 4K 3D

I sat in a theater yesterday afternoon, much as did 25 years ago.
Waiting for the movie to begin, I paused to consider everything that has happened in my life the past twenty-five years.
The movie began, and I sat spellbound as a little old lady named Rose Calvert told her compelling story of being on the RMS Titanic for it’s maiden voyage.
Although a fictional character, Rose could have been any young seventeen year old debutante on board that ship.
She tells us of being trapped in a life that she doesn’t want.
Of being railroaded into a marriage to a man that she doesn’t love; being forced into it by a domineering and desperate mother.

Rose goes on to tell us of her chance meeting of a young man who would change her life profoundly.
this young man opens Rose’s eyes to a whole new world that was always there, but one that she never got to experience.
Jack Dawson shows Rose just how special that the little things and events in life are.
In the process the two fall in love.

The viewer begins to realize that James Cameron has crafted a masterpiece. One that is as fresh and wonderful today as it was 25 years ago, or for that matter 111 years ago.
Weather writing a book, creating a painting, or making a movie, the challenge is to have universal appeal, but knowing that is impossible.
Someone is not going to like what you have created.
Cameron’s film Titanic comes as close as you can get to universal appeal.
For the history lover, your heartrate increases as the great ship, moves across the screen in bold color and 3D, the massive pistons of the engine room driving the reciprocating engines, and powering the propellers.
Glimpses into the stoke hold, the state rooms, first class dining, steerage, the boat deck, the promenade deck, the first class lounge, and steerage- places that every Titanic enthusiast has imagined visiting and for a few hours you are there. You are an eyewitness.

For the romantics, there is the improbable yet wonderful story of two teens discovering true love; this despite Jack being from the wrong side of the tracks.

For those who crave drama and adventure, this film fills the bill; from Cal and Lovejoy pursuing Jack and Rose to locking Jack in the lower deck of a sinking ship.
And then watching the great ship sink, right before our very eyes.
The tragedy of 1500 deaths hits us squarely in the face.

For those who wish for a happy ending, they get it, but not without a sad bittersweet price.
As aged Rose Calvert explains to the viewer, “So you see, Jack Dawson saved me.
Saved me in every way that a person possibly can be saved.
I don’t even have a picture of him.
He exists now, only in my memory.”

In the end, Rose’s story of Jack Dawson even changes the heart of Brock Lovett.
In the end, Rose teaches a valuable lesson.
Life is made up of precious few special moments and people.
If we are fortunate, we all meet that special someone in life who has such a powerful impact on us that they transform us in a positive way.
If one is truly fortunate, that special someone remains in our life.
But, that isn’t always possible.
Sometimes that special someone is only with us for the briefest of times.
Our memories of that special someone are all that we are left with.

One more time, Rose climbs up on the railing of a ship as she did so many years before.
There she makes her peace and she is able to finally let go of the past.
For me, this is the powerful message of Titanic.

This version is greatly improved. You will love it! The 3D is excellent!

I love that poster! That said, I'll pass on seeing this in the theaters again.

I'm sure your right. It's been years since I've seen a 3D so I'm betting the technology has improved. But none of the theaters within 70 miles of me is showing it. Would have to drive to Vegas I'm guessing to see it. Cheers.

That's a shame. I think you would be impressed. I hated the 3D glasses at the 20th anniversary re-release.
This time the image was so clear, I forgot that I was wearing the glasses!

Thank you for your comments on this. I've been thinking about how great it would be to see the ship in 3D. I had posted earlier that I was going to pass on seeing this in the theaters, but I've changed my mind. Cheers.
